Retro Reborn Circuit FAQ
Retro Reborn Circuit — FAQ Sheet
What Is the Retro Reborn Circuit?
The Retro Reborn Circuit is a competitive Retro YGO tournament series built for players who love classic formats with a modern experience. Each event features professional tournament organization, premium merchandise, and a unified XP progression system that carries across the entire season.
These events will take place at either a hotel that provides a place to stay and play or a convention center that is within walking distance of the hotel. Think .1-.2 mile walk. Currently all events listed on the website are stay and play locations with the hotel also doubling as the venue. We are hoping this mainly takes the stress of travel away from the players, and the focus will be on enjoying a 3 day weekend.
How Does the Circuit Work?
The Circuit runs as a multi-event season, featuring stops across different cities.
Each stop is a three-day weekend:
• Friday – Trade Night & Social Event (6 PM – 11 PM)
• Saturday (Day 1) – Main Event #1 and side events
• Sunday (Day 2) – Main Event #2 (different format) and side events
XP earned at all Circuit stops stack towards your Lifetime XP and Reborn Stage Rank. End-of-season standings determine top players who earn exclusive prizes and recognition.
What Are Reborn Stages?
Reborn Stages represent your personal progression throughout the circuit. As your XP grows, you unlock exclusive titles, rewards, and privileges, with some being you getting to customize your very own clothing.

How Is XP Tracked?
XP is tracked digitally at every Circuit stop. Players register once through the official portal or in-person and will be attached to whatever ID they used to pay online. After each event, your XP total will update on the Retro Reborn Leaderboard after each event. You can view your progression online at retroreborn.gg.
XP resets at the start of each season.
How Much Does It Cost to Enter?
Entry costs may vary slightly between Day 1 and Day 2 Main Events depending on the format, prize support, and venue. Please check the registration page for the specific Circuit stop you plan to attend for confirmed pricing.
Main Event – Day 1: $50 | Entry, player token/tee, XP tracking, and event participation package
Main Event – Day 2: $40 | Entry, player token, XP tracking, and event participation package
Side Event: $15 per entry | Entry eligibility for XP and side prizing
What Are the Prizes?
Each event will have its own specific prizing for top cut. Check the events tab for each city to know what you are playing for.
To reward players who excel across all formats, we wanted to create prizing for people that wanted to play in everything.
End of Season Prizing
🥇 1st Place – Giant Card: Dark End Dragon
🥈 2nd Place – Giant Card: Swap Frog
🥉 3rd Place – Oversized Card: Caius the Shadow Monarch
The Prizing listed here is for the top three players that accumulate the most points throughout the entire circuit. Points will carry a running and cumulative total until the end of the season (first to last event).
What Formats Are Played?
Each Circuit stop features two main formats:
• Day 1: Edison Format (With the exception of the first event Day 1 is REDU with Day 2 Goat)
• Day 2: Alternate retro format (rotates each event — Goat, REDU, TENGU, HAT)
Do I Need to Bring a Decklist?
Yes — Main Events require a submitted decklist before Round 1 begins. Decklists can be turned in on paper at check-in. KDE or Written Decklist will suffice. Side Events generally do not require decklists unless specified.
What Time Should I Arrive for the events?
Each event the Friday night before will have a Trade and Social Night for everyone to flex their newest collections or help others finish theirs. Maybe even get some play testing done. Each site will be different and information will be given through both the discord and email.
Friday: 6 PM – 11 PM (Trade Night & Social Event)
Saturday: 9 AM Check-In, 10 AM Round 1 Start
Sunday: 9 AM Check-In, 10 AM Round 1 Start
Players who arrive late may receive a Round 1 loss.
What Side Events Are Offered?
Side events rotate and may include:
• 8-Player Win-a-Mat brackets
Any format can be ran if there is 8 players.
How Do I Register?

Event options. Spots often sell out early — pre-register online to secure your place.
Can I Work or Volunteer for Retro Reborn?
Yes. The Circuit hires judges, scorekeepers, and staff for each city. To apply, contact us through the website or DM NickCollins on Discord.
Can I Film or Stream Matches?
Yes — filming is welcome as long as both players consent. Please ensure that recording equipment does not interfere with gameplay or block walkways. Official Retro Reborn coverage and media teams will also stream select matches. If found recording without the consent of the team and opponent, you will be removed from the main event of that day.
Are Spectators Allowed?
Spectators are always welcome if they’ve purchased Main Event or Side Event entry. Non-playing attendees may still enter the venue by purchasing a Spectator Pass at the door.
Where can I learn more about these formats?
To learn more about the various formats offered at each event we recommend checking out Format Library! This is a great starting point for beginners to understand the rules and card pools of each format.
